Big Pup Falls
Running alongside County Road 510 for a short time, Big Pup Falls is a set of waterfalls in a classic Huron Mountain setting. Multiple small drops over dark volcanic rock, hemmed in by mossy banks and tall trees, the upper drops on the creek makes a perfect setting for easy visits. This waterfall is on private property, so please respect the land in any posted restrictions.
Directions
Less than two miles south of County Road 510’s bridge over the Yellow Dog River there is another, smaller bridge over Big Pup Creek. Park near the bridge and head directly down to the creek. Follow the water downstream for a few hundred yards to view all of the upper falls.
To visit the larger lower falls you can either continue downstream through the brush and swamp for another mile or so or cut forward on the two-tracks. There is a shorter way in. About a mile north of the bridge a dirt road heads east off of County Road 510, opening into a clearing a short distance in. From the clearing bear right onto a two-track that runs down to the creek, and follow the water downstream to Lower Big Pup Falls. A small walking trail heads east off the same two-track and may go somewhere useful, but nobody has reported back on it.

This waterfall is a small roadside drop, easy to find, as the creek flows under County Road 510 before tumbling over the drops. Logan and I spent a little time here climbing down the steep banks and enjoying being out of the car after wasting all morning driving around lost.

Found a dirt road going east off of 510 just about one mile north of the bridge over Big Pup Creek. From the clearing a short distance in, go right to two track that goes down to the creek, follow creek downstream, or possibly use the small walking trail going east off the two track, though l did not have time to test it out.
Revisited the area. Indeed. A nice, bigger falls just downstream from here.
