Turkey Neck Falls
Turkey Neck Falls sits on the lower half of Cedar Creek deep within the Huron Mountain Club property. Plenty of unnamed drops line the creek, many of them quite scenic over mossy rocks and surrounded by deep pools in cedars, making it hard to pinpoint the exact drop. The most likely waterfall is a long, jumbled chute with plenty of downed trees over it, a frothy slide darting back and forth alongside a hard rock wall.
Directions
From Big Erick’s Bridge head east down Erick’s Road for 4 miles, turning left onto the Northwestern Road. Take this for 3 miles and turn left at the hubcap is, sticking to the Northwestern Road. Cedar Creek flows under (or over, depending on the time of year) the road 2.2 miles from the last intersection. A small, wildly muddy drive follows Cedar Creek downstream just past the crossing for parking if you get this far, otherwise just park along the road and walk to the creek. Head downstream past Cedar Falls to Turkey Neck Falls, at least a mile into the Club property.

Below the main falls the creek meandered through swampy sections and a few rapids, never dropping much, and making me question whether or not Turkey Neck Falls even existed. When a pair of small drops showed up above deep pools I wasted little time scrambling down next to the creek and taking some photos. Further on the creek had quickened and seemed to twist and drop sharply under the downed trees; I crept over the logs and through deep snow to capture a few mediocre shots.

Not being from this area yet, but having researched, this surprises me. With this waterfall being on HMC property, how difficult was it to access? Was it legally accessible because it is a water-way? Thanks!
Hi Amie - no, this waterfall is probably not legally accessible. The water-way loophole only works so far with HMC, as they keep a close eye on their creeks and rivers with so many people trying to (illegally) fish them. I got lucky on this one.
There is one waterfall on Cedar Creek, a small upper drop within a few hundred yards of the Northwestern Road, that is on public land. Other than that this whole creek is pretty much private. Sorry :(
