Upper Cedar Falls on Cedar Creek

accessible drop along the mostly HMC creek

Foaming small chute

  • Smooth waters dropping over smooth rocks
  • Foaming small chute

Most of Cedar Creek sits within the property of the Huron Mountain Club, making its waterfalls inaccessible for most people. There is one drop that sits right outside their boundary. An upper waterfall is a few hundred yards downstream from the Northwestern Road and is a scenic, mossy drop surrounded by tag alders and huge cedars.

Directions

From Big Erick's Bridge head east down Erick's Road for 4 miles, turning left onto the Northwestern Road. Take this for 3 miles and turn left at the hubcap is, sticking to the Northwestern Road. Cedar Creek flows under (or over, depending on the time of year) the road 2.2 miles from the hubcap. Park near the creek and head downstream a few hundred yards to the waterfall. Cedar Falls is further downstream, though it is within the Huron Mountain Club property.
