Epic Shoreline of Pictured Rocks

Encompasses a long stretch of shoreline east of Marquette from Trenary to Grand Marias, Alger County includes the lands of Munising, Pictured Rocks lakeshore, and Grand Island. It was also once the site of Lake Superior's outflow down to Lake Michigan through Au Train back when St Mary's was blocked by glaciers. The highlands around Pictured Rocks helps to form dozens of waterfalls over sandstone cascading down to today's lake levels.
